Three hours a day is 91 days of your life a year.

That is the average. Yours is a different number, and it takes seven questions to find out: how much of your year is going into games, and how much of it comes back at the limit you choose. You get the number at the end, before you decide anything.

Free, no signup. The app itself is $9.99/mo after a 3-day trial that asks for a card.

Same hours, two exits

The time goes somewhere either way.

Nobody sits down and decides to lose a year. It goes one more match at a time, and the only place it ever shows up is the person you are at 7am.

Before A young man lying in bed at night, lit by his phone, with a dark gaming setup behind him.

2:40am, one more match

The hours are invisible while they happen. You only ever meet them later, as the tiredness, the skipped plans, the week that went missing.

After The same young man in daylight at a gym with three friends, awake and out of the room.

The same hours, awake

Two hours a day handed back is 61 waking days a year. Enough for the training to work, for the people to notice, for mornings to stop being a write-off.

RESPAWN does not take gaming away from you. It puts a number on what it costs, in the one currency you cannot earn back, and then it counts every hour you decide to keep.

How it works

Three things, and none of them is willpower.

01

Answer seven questions

How much you play now, where you want the line, why you want it, and what you would rather be doing. About a minute, and none of it leaves your browser.

02

Log the time you play

Start the timer when you sit down, or add it in one tap: +30 min, +1 h. Nothing is installed and nothing watches your machine. Logging it yourself is half of the work.

03

Watch the days come back

Every finished day under your number adds to the counter. It is measured against what you said you play now, not against your limit, so the past never gets rewritten.

What you get

All of it, from the first day.

Three days to find out whether it works on you, then $9.99 a month. The trial asks for a card up front and turns into a subscription on day three unless you cancel. Cancelling takes two clicks, inside the app.

Days of your life, back

The headline number. Every hour you did not play, divided by the 12 waking hours in a day, counted only from days you actually finished.

One limit, set once

You pick the line, not the app. It warns you when you reach it, and it will not let you move it on a weak evening.

A streak worth keeping

Every day under your limit adds one. It is the cheapest reason there is to stop at the number instead of one more round.

Instead of gaming

A short list of what the time is for, checked off day by day. An empty evening is what sends most people back to the desk.

Your last 7 days

One glance at the week you just had, so a bad Tuesday reads as a bad Tuesday and not as proof that you failed.

Offline, and yours

Everything is stored in your browser. No password to remember, and it keeps working on a plane.

Pro switches on with your first payment. Sync across your devices, all-time stats, CSV export, a full-year calendar you can open day by day, and an eagle that grows one stage for every three clean days and never shrinks back. The three trial days cover everything above; these are what the subscription adds on top.

What we build next

None of this exists yet. Tell us which one should.

RESPAWN today is the six things above, and nothing more. Below is what people keep asking for. Tap the ones you would actually use - it is one tap, it asks for nothing, and it decides what gets built first.

Nothing is sent anywhere with your name on it, and this does not sign you up for anything.

The math

How big is yours?

Counted in waking days of 12 hours each, because the ones you sleep through were never yours to spend.

3 h 0 m
30 min12 h

That is 91 days of your waking year, spent in games.

RESPAWN does not ask you to give that up. It asks you to decide how much of it you want back, then counts it for you, day by day.

Before you start

What RESPAWN will not do.

Better you know now. Half of these are on purpose, and the app is more useful because of them.

It will not detect your games. Nothing is installed, nothing reads your machine, and there is no Steam or console integration. You log the time yourself, which is the part that makes you notice it.

It will not block anything. No locks, no forced shutdowns, no blocklist to argue with at midnight. It counts and it tells you. The stopping is still yours.

It will not tell you how much is too much. Two hours is a fine evening for one person and a lost year for another. You draw the line; the app just holds it.

It will not charge you by surprise. The trial ends on day three and renews unless you stop it, but you get an email before that happens and cancelling is two clicks inside the app. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing at all.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

What is RESPAWN, exactly?

A web app that helps you play fewer video games. You say how much you play now and where you want the line to be, then log your sessions. The app turns the hours you did not play into days of your life you got back, and keeps a streak of every day you stayed under your limit.

Does it track my games automatically?

No. Nothing is installed and nothing watches your machine. You start a timer when you sit down to play, or add time in one tap with the +30 min and +1 h buttons. That is deliberate: logging the time is part of noticing it.

Is it really free?

The first three days are, and there is no free version after them. The trial asks for a card at checkout and turns into a subscription on day three, at $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year, unless you cancel before it ends. You can cancel at any point during those three days, from inside the app, and pay nothing.

What does Pro add?

Sync across devices, all-time statistics, CSV export of your data, a full-year calendar you can open day by day, an eagle that grows with every three clean days and never shrinks back, and the ability to change your daily limit once a week. These switch on with your first payment; the three trial days cover the tracking itself.

Do I need an account?

Yes, but not before you pay. You start the trial at checkout and create the account right after, with an email and a 6-digit code, no password. That order is deliberate: nobody should have to go dig a code out of their inbox in the second they decided to start. Your data itself still lives in your browser and the app still works offline.

How are days of my life counted?

Against the amount of gaming you told the app you do now, not against your limit, and only from days that are already finished. The hours you did not play are added up and divided by 12, the waking hours in a day, so the counter reads in days of your life rather than a pile of hours.

Where does my data live?

On your device, in your browser. If you create an account it is also synced to RESPAWN's database so you can open it on another device, and you can export it to CSV at any time with Pro.
